As President and founder, Debbie Purcell, leads the Engineered Openings Team. With 30+ years of experience and recognition as an industry leader, Debbie has been instrumental in building the firm to what it is today. Celebrating our 20 year anniversary – she began the company in 1994, every county in Northeast Georgia has at least some of Engineered Openings wood doors in their buildings. Being a Certified Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) she works with Owners, Architects and Contractors directly to provide hardware and doors that are not only aesthetic but also meet all of the Life Safety and Fire codes.
Debbie is active in the Georgia Chapter of the Door & Hardware Institute and has served as Treasurer, Secretary, President and Vice President. She enjoys traveling, hiking and reading.
Lead Estimator/Vice President
Rhonda is Engineered Openings Vice President and Senior Estimator. Rhonda has a vast knowledge of estimating and has 10 years experience doing so. She is a graduate of Piedmont College. She is responsible for estimating projects big or small. Being senior estimator, Rhonda’s biggest responsibility, other than estimating, is keeping up with new or improved products we offer and sometimes that means deciding on which product is best suitable for the job.
Lynn Kirkland is Engineered Openings’ Comptroller. Lynn has been with the Engineered Openings team for 9 years. Lynn is responsible for accounting, contract review, closeout documents, day to day installation and human resources with all staff.
Away from work Lynn enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her 4 grandchildren, daughters, family and friends.
Purchasing, Detailing, and Specification Writing
Amanda Bridges is our Order Purchaser, Detailer, and specification writer for the Engineered Openings team. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administrative Technology and is on the path of acquiring her AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) certification. At Engineered Openings Amanda’s responsible for ordering material, entering hardware schedules, writing preliminary hardware specifications, resolving problems, interacting with customers, and more.
Amanda is currently the secretary of the Georgia Chapter of the Door and Hardware Institute. She enjoys anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing, hiking, crafting, sewing, canning, and spending time with family.
David is one of our Project Managers, with a background in business and building maintenance. David holds a Masters of Business Administration from Piedmont College with hopes of furthering his education in the Doors and Hardware Institute. David’s responsibilities as Project Manager at Engineered Openings are to ensure the project gets done correctly and in a timely matter from beginning to end.
David enjoys anything outdoors including golf, hiking, and being on the water. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and woodworking.
Jason is a dynamic and driven individual with a continuous improvement mind set who has the strength of character to really deliver. He has the passion to succeed, along with the willingness to progress within a role, and the ability to contribute towards warehousing initiatives. On a personal level, he is a confident and passionate manager who can manage, mentor and motivate a team. His key strengths lie in controlling warehouse flow patterns, job organization in the warehouse and planning future storage capacity. Jason also runs the weld shop with over 4 years experience in mig welding and finishing work.
Jason enjoys spending time with his family and friends and playing drums at his church.
Jeff came on board with the Engineered Openings team in 2016 to help Jason Parker in the warehouse. Jeff’s duties include: checking in material, making sure all material is correct, coordinating delivery to job sites, and more!
In his spare time Jeff likes to be outdoors and spend time with his wife. He also enjoys cooking and baking.
Gail has been with Engineered Openings since 2016. She is the friendly voice on the phone and has a variety of responsibilities including keeping the office stocked with supplies, filing, and delivery of parts.
In her spare time Gail enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Chris was brought on to the Engineered Openings team in 2018 to assist in accounting. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Georgia. Chris’ responsibilities include handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with closeout documents.
Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. He also enjoys watching or playing all sports.
